Getting Ready for Spring

From our friends at SERPRO, a restoration company, comes these helpful hints.
Spring is just around the corner and I’d just like to give you a few tips to get ready for that weather that might come in handy for yourselves or your clients:

· Clean and inspect your rain gutters and down spouts of any blockages.

· Repair or replace roofing as needed.

· Be sure soffit vents are clean and unobstructed.

· Check for any cracks or peeling paint. This could indicate moisture retention.

· Fill low spots around foundations with clean fill dirt.

· Create slope away from the structure to drain runoff properly.

· Trim plants around building to avoid growth of mold or mildew.

· Make sure garden areas have adequate drainage.

· Apply a waterproofing coating to interior or exterior basement walls.

· When checking sprinkler systems and hose water pressure, if the pressure is low, shut off immediately and check for leaks in the basement.

Customer Protection Reviews

We do Customer Protection Reviews of our client’s policies on an annual basis. Most of our clients come into the office to make sure that the policy is correct and that they are getting all the discounts. On occasion some of the clients elect not to come in. This is a problem.

Just last week we had a client that declined our invitation to come in for the CPR for the past few years. She was reviewing her policy and found that a trailer was not on the policy. She called in a panic! We noticed that she had declined to come in stating “That everything was correct.”

However it was not! We were able to help her to get the trailer covered. These are NOT SALES interviews, just a way to make sure you are coverage properly.

Every year Allstate gives back to the Community. This year I was fortunate to be involed with this program and Orem City. We were able to help the Orem City CERT. This is an organization of volunteers that spring into action to help afer a disaster. I am proud to be a part of the “Agency Hands in the Community” program. A former client of mine from Saratoga Springs (Lehi) Utah just contacted me about Insurance. He said he was coming back to me and my agency”Ted Whitaker Insurance Agency” in Orem, Utah. He said that no one provided the service to him like we did. We love to hear comments like that! Thanks Cade.
